Meeting Rachel
I am an awkward person, and Rachel is…Rachel owns her awkwardness in a way that both highlighted my own awkwardness and has comforted me about how I acted when I met her just now. I may feel like an idiot, but I have a feeling she’ll at least remember that sweet, awkward girl who couldn’t stop smiling.
That being said, she was really sweet and funny and took a few questions. She was amazed by how many people were there, and how long we waited to see her. She was very, very happy in a really genuine, authentic way. And that authentic happiness totally seeped into her audience, even the people who knew her who were sitting up front.
And also? Susan, her girlfriend, is adorable. The only person in the room happier than Rachel herself was Susan. Just sayin’.
